Finishes & colours
Any colour. The question is which one you will still like.
We powder coat or spray paint in-house, so colour is not a constraint. What matters more is matt versus gloss, and how the colour behaves in full Durban sun.
Matt beats gloss outdoors, almost always. Gloss shows every ripple in a panel and every fingerprint near a gate handle. Matt and satin hide both, and they photograph better.
Dark colours read as architecture; light colours disappear. Charcoal, bronze and near-black make a screen a feature. Off-whites and greys make it vanish into the wall, which is often exactly what an aircon cover should do.
Match something that already exists. The safest choice is nearly always your window frames or your gutters. Screens that match nothing tend to look added-on.
Aluminium does not rust. The coating is for colour and UV, not corrosion protection. That is why we work in aluminium and ACM rather than mild steel — particularly this close to the sea.
